Evaluation is one of the important components of the System of
Education. Effective evaluation not only categorizes the students into
meritorious, average and slow learners but also allows teachers to plan
their strategies to improve the standards of average and slow learners as
well. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) System which has
been followed for the past seven academic years is now replaced by a new
“UNIFORM SYSTEM OF ASSESSMENT AND EXAM INATION” by the
CBSE. The CBSE board has restored the Board Examination for Class
from the academic year 2017-2018 onwards. Further, the CBSE has revised
the assessment and examination for class X from 2017-2018 onwards. This
new scheme will bring uniformity in the system of assessment and
examination for classes IX and X in all CBSE affiliated schools. To increase
the confidence in the students to start preparing for class X board
Examination when they join the upper primary stage in class VI, the CBSE
has decided to implement the uniform system of assessment examination
pattern and issue of report cards for classes VI to VIII also on the similar
pattern.
The scheme for classes VI-VIII has been designed on Term Assessment
Basis. Accordingly the School will be following the new system as per the
Guidelines issued by the CBSE Board from the academic year 2018-2019.
The students of classes I to X will have to adapt themselves to the new
pattern and come out successful in the tests and examinations conducted
by the school. As the entire syllabus is covered for the Year-ending Board
examination, the students of class X have to work harder continuously
throughout the academic year so that they can come out successful in the
Board examination.
The detailed components of the scheme are mentioned below for easy
understanding and implementation.
1. Scholastic Area: The assessment structure and examination for classes
VI to VIII have been prepared in view of the provisions of RTE-Act 2009 and

aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These
